Experience the magical landscapes of southern Morocco on a 4-Day Erg Chigaga Desert Tour from Marrakech, combining desert dunes, ancient kasbahs, traditional Berber villages, and authentic Saharan experiences
Our journey kicks off in the morning from Marrakech, then we will drive through the majestic High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Next, we will continue our drive to landscapes of Ounila and Draa Valley region, passing through traditional Berber villages, palm groves, and historical kasbahs. Finally, we will arrive in Zagora, the gateway to the Sahara, where we will spend the night at a comfortable hotel or riad.
Highlights:
After our breakfast, we will continue south toward Tamegroute, a historical village famous for its traditional green pottery and centuries-old cultural heritage. Once there, we will visit the local pottery workshops and explore the village before continuing toward the vast Draa Valley.
From M’Hamid, the paved road ends and the real desert adventure begins. We will travel by 4×4 through the remote desert landscapes toward the spectacular Erg Chigaga dunes.

Upon our arrival, we will enjoy a traditional camel ride through the dunes, followed by a captivating sunset over the Sahara Desert. Next, we will spend the night at a traditional desert camp, enjoying a Moroccan dinner, music, and a spectacular star-filled sky.

We will wake up early to experience the magical Sahara sunrise before breakfast. After leaving the desert camp, we will continue our 4×4 journey across the desert toward Foum Zguid and then travel through the semi-desert landscapes of southern Morocco toward Ait Benhaddou, a famous fortified village and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, it is one of Morocco’s most impressive historical landmarks. When in Ait Benhaddou, we will take time to explore the ancient kasbah and its narrow streets before enjoying a relaxing evening at the Riad.

After our breakfast, we will continue our journey toward Marrakech. Depending on your departure time, we can enjoy some additional time around Ait Benhaddou before crossing the High Atlas Mountains once again. After that, we will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon or evening, where our 4-day Erg Chigaga desert adventure comes to an end.
